Income from SCI’s Special Events provides a major source of funding for the Institute’s programs. To put more of the money earned from these Special Events directly toward funding our important work, SCI solicits underwriters for specific costs, including the cost food, giveaways, printing costs, and media and entertainment. Event Underwriting provides prominent placement for sponsors of SCI’s well-attended events. Each year, over 100 of the top maritime companies are represented at the annual Silver Bell Awards Dinner in New York, and SCI welcomes a large number of the industry’s leaders to Special Events in Paducah and Houston each year. All underwriters receive recognition on the pre- and post-event materials, and the organization’s name appears on signage at the event.
