The Seafarers' Club at the Seamen's Church Institute provides a friendly and safe environment for relaxation,
recreation, and spiritual refreshment. Stop by
Monday through Friday to have a cup of coffee, shoot a game of pool, pray at our St.
Nicholas Chapel, or read a variety of magazines.
Mariners visiting New York
and living nearby are warmly invited to our homemade dinners on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, movie showings, and other programs. Please join
us!
New Faces at the Seafarers' Club
The Seamen's Church Institute is pleased to welcome the Rev.
Megan Sanders, who will become our first Maritime Intern starting May 1, 2008. Her previous ministry has been at St. Peter’s Church,
Essex Falls, NJ. At SCI-New York, Rev. Sanders will be coordinating
events for retired mariners that follow up on Mother Mary’s
ministry. She will continue to host Seafarers' Dinners on the 1st and 3rd of each month, and in addition will host each month's meeting of the American Merchant Marine Veterans, Edwin J. O'Hara Chapter. She will also coordinate occasionally with Center for
Seafarers’ Rights.
