Congregations in New York and New Jersey can request an SCI staff member to visit them to preach, celebrate, or present a program about Seamen’s Church Institute. A Sea Sunday is a time when all members of the family of faith are invited to learn about our efforts to share God’s love with sojourners entering the Port of New York & New Jersey. It is also a time to learn of the invaluable and sometimes dangerous work of a seafarer. Seafarers bring 90% of all goods entering our country. We depend on them and they in turn rely on our hospitality, services, and pastoral care.
